Fundraiser for a boy at school

Last night was a spagetti dinner fundraiser at Marquette Mountain Ski Hill for Dustin Burkman, a boy in Jon's grade that has had a reoccurance of leukemia. He is in the hospital recuperating from a bout with pneumonia following a bone marrow transplant. He is a sick little boy but everyone is hopefull for his future. He plays violin with Jon and Lauren so a few of the kids and the teacher performed during part of the dinner.

Misc. at School

We were given the job of separating these creepy crawlers into individual containers for the kids in Lauren's class. They will watch them turn into butterflies and release them outside the school.

Lauren, a reluctant model

It was so beautiful today we took a ride to Presque Isle. Lots of people out and about. The weather was perfect. Spring break is almost over. Ironically, as I was off of work all week, we had a snow day on Tuesday and Lauren was sick on Thursday. Would have been a short week anyway. The kids are looking forward to going back to school and seeing their friends. They are the kind of kids that need structure. So do I.

Happy April Fool's Day!

The back yard. My poor fruit trees!

The lilac bushes are all bent over.

Here is what we were greeted with this morning. If the kids weren't on break, school would have been closed. Notice the downed phone line in the picture looking out the window. My neighbor and I thought it was a power line and had the electric company come out. Luckily, the phone line isn't dangerous.
