Misc. from April

Lauren gave a biography report on Sacagawea:

A coworker gave me some venison. The kids loved it. They'll look differently at Bambi :)

Jon found a recipe for healthy baked apples. They are DELICOUS!!!

Art supplies sent from Grandpa Don. A fun way to spend a chilly afternoon:

On April 21st, the kids had a snowday. The university wasn't closed so I had to work. You can see the kids watching me leave:

A moment of zen:

Lake Superior, April 21st.

Picnic Rocks on Easter Sunday

Happy Easter

An Easter cake from Mimi, a yearly tradition. Mmmmm.....

Easter morning began at 6:00 am. Yippee. They were gathering eggs by 7. At least it was not in snowbanks like last year.

Science Fair

Jon's 4th grade had a science fair on Monday night. He got a gold medal, 95%. I was proud of him but he really didn't put much effort into the darn thing. I'm not sure getting a gold was a good reinforcement of his efforts. There were some really interesting projects and I think overall the kids learned alot.

Catching Up

Happy Birthday to me.....

Emmye and Steve bought me a new pair of Emu's. They're Australian sheepskin boots. Nice!

We went to a Pow Wow a few weekends ago at NMU.

Lauren't science project, a tornado in a bottle. You mix the ingredients then shake the bottle. It is really cool and was a hit at school.

Jon has a science project due on Friday. His hypothesis is what kinds of common citris fruits can light a small lightbulb. We found out none. If i remember correctly you would need about 32 to light a small 12v bulb. I'm not wasting 32 fruit.

Just for kicks, here is our cat Tara. I don't usually allow the cats on the table but she was so darn cute!

We've been remodeling our basement and whew, it's been alot of work. Good learning experience though. Next, we are going to gut the upstairs bathroom. Later...
