St. Ignace and Mackinac City

Back in July we took a trip to Burt Lake in lower Michigan to visit with Jon and Lauren's relatives from their biological father's side of the family. They are really great people and we had a wonderful time. After visiting we made our way back to Mackinac City where we shopped, ate dinner and took in a very cool laser light show in the evening. Our motel was in St. Ignace so we spent the next day there taking in some of the cool historical things they have to offer. Really an impressive place.

Summer Misc.

The garden as of July 11th. There has been plenty of rain this year and we've not had to water more than once or twice. Frankly, I've sometimes forgotten about the garden.

Lauren and her best friend looking for a lost cat (not ours). It's a biter!

If you look closely, you can see hives all over Jon. He has asthma and allergies and Dr. Joseph, his terrific allergist, thinks it is just some kind of reaction to something. He ordered blood work just to be sure. A few days with an antihistamine and Jon was back to normal. It looked much worse than it was.

Lauren's Birthday

We had Lauren's birthday party on Tuesday night over at Harlow Park. The weather was perfect. We had pizza, salad, chips, pop and cake. She wanted a Littlest Petshop cake so I did my best. It came out cute. She loved all her presents. With the money she had gotten from Grandma Shirley she bought an animal hospital building thingy of Littlest Petshop. Now she has quite a collection.

Horses

The Budweiser horses are in town this week. They are spectacular. Here are some pics:

Party at cousin Dawn's

My cousin Dawn has a yearly party at her summer home in Ishpeming. It's a blast. Lots of great food, games and a pinata. Pics coming shortly.
