Butterflies!

By May 7th the Painted Lady butterflies were starting to come out. The class set them free in the school garden. I didn't know when they were letting them go or I would have been there to take pictures. What a cool school project.

Mourning Dove Nesting

There is a Mourning Dove nesting in our weedwacker in the back shed. I don't know yet if there are eggs layed. She let me go right in the shed and get my gardening tools. The neighbor told me they are not aggressive birds and I shouldn't have a problem with them protecting the nest. I just hope our cat doesn't get at it. I'll have to watch out for when they fledge.
